Express entry candidates no longer get 50/200 points for LMIA based job offers.

Why: This change was made to reduce immigration fraud as LMIAs were getting sold for points in order to bypass the regular immigration process. By removing the points, the value of a LMIA based job offer has significantly dropped making the express entry pool a fairer process.

Predicted Effects: By removing the points a large percentage of people in the pool will no longer be benefiting from the LMIA points which can be one of the big reasons express entry draws are so high. With the removal of the points we can expect express entry draws to considerably drop in the near future maybe even bringing CEC draws to around 500 or a little lower by the end of this year.

This change is most beneficial for those who have good education and language credentials along with Canadian work experience but never managed to secure a LMIA based job offer because relatively speaking those 3 factors are now more heavily weighted in deciding who will be making the cut off in the express entry pool rather than it being decided largely by employer job offers.
